    ASB stands for Associated Educatee Body and represents the interests of all Briggs 1000-8 scholars. Students who participate in ASB foster a positive atmosphere during the school day which encourages students to experience connected to their school. Briggs' ASB students aspire to ensure a well-rounded K-eight experience though collaboration, planning and organizing activities such every bit dances, Spirit Days, assemblies, and community projects throughout the year.     Briggs' Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program, is a College Readiness System defended to preparing all students for higher, career and other postsecondary choices. Students receive a rigorous program of instruction in bookish "survival skills" and college level readiness skills. The Avid program teaches students how to report, read for content, take notes, and manage time. Students participate in collaborative study groups or tutorials led by tutors who use expert questioning to bring students to a higher level of understanding.     The hands-on plan boosts classroom engagement and excitement, drives collaboration, and inspires "aha! moments" and deep comprehension.
